Where We've Come From
MoGro hasn't always existed in its current form. We've been in the business of food access for a while. Before piloting our current program, MoGro ran a mobile grocery store in tribal communities around the state.
Serving the pueblos of Santo Domingo, San Felipe, Cochiti, Laguna, San Ildefonso, and Jemez, we made a weekly visit to each of our sites with a semi-truck outfitted as a full-service grocery store. At these sites, we opened our doors for folks shop in their own communities. The pictures below tell the story the best.
Since we've transitioned to a pre-order delivery service, we're making headway reaching folks in a new way that's more sustainable than a grocery store on wheels. Among other sites, we currently deliver to four partnering pueblos and are hoping to expand our route soon.
These photos are from current pickup sites, cooking classes and events, and our mobile grocery store market days. Thanks to all who helped by thinking to snap a quick shot of folks in our communities coming together.
